So far, I’m digging the smarter-than-expected approach. Ditsy characters usually don’t offer any real depth to a story.
I agree. I personally have found ditsy/dumb characters to be kind of hard to write, for that very reason.
A big part of AG and LS relationship is their battle of wits, and that doesn’t really work if one of them isn’t as smart as the other.
I kind of wonder if that rehabilitation is going to include Brenda.
I don’t think it’s possible to rehabilitate someone like Brenda!
However, this definitely isn’t the last we have seen of Borderline Brenda.
In my head AG is from the deep south (maybe TX, LA, AL, or AR), but she’s managed to learn how to ” control ” her formerly very thick southern or Texan accent to keep her image up. Her accent only comes out when she’s been severely agitated/provoked, very scared, or under stress. She uses a fairly tame version of her real accent for work though.
LS is from the West Coast (San Francisco, Sacramento) or somewhere in the DMV area.
Actually, several of your theories about Awesome Girl are VERY close to what I have in mind for her(we will learn more about her in the future and you will see what I mean).
As far as Latex Scorpion goes… well, let’s just say her background might be a little different than what readers might be expecting. 😉

I too appreciate her Obfuscating Stupidity. it’s a useful tactic that not many heroes apply.
That’s true. Fortunately Awesome Girl understands that not every situation can be solved with brute strength.
(Pot brownies are a pretty good Plan B, though.)
