This is actually their first time meeting each other. Sharona knew Haralabas by reputation prior to this, but hadn’t actually met her, and Haralabas didn’t know Sharona at all.
In fact, starting with the next page, we will be going back in time a few hours and exploring the events that led up to Sharona’s current predicament.
Ah, okay. The “a lifetime too late” confused me. ^_^
